Accumulator Bets

If you're going to show a bookmaker the colour of your money and want a nice return then one of the best ways to do it might be with an accumulator bet. Pick a few winners, accumulate them into one bet and anything you win just keeps rolling onto the next result. You can cover yourself with combined bets and putting doubles and trebles together can almost guarantee you a win if you can pick a couple of good selections.

Accumulators are good for all sorts of betting, try it on the horses or pick a few of your favourite sports teams for a great accumulator bet.

You can pick several choices and have one single accumulator but to get a return on this type of bet you'll need every choice to win to get a return. Instead why not spread your cash around and split the bet into doubles, trebles and accumulators.

A great example of this is a Yankee bet, choose four selections - whether they be horses or football teams, the choice is yours - and if two of them come in you get a return, depending on the odds it'll probably be more than your bet placed too.

That's because a Yankee is made up of four doubles, six trebles and one accumulator. So if you get two winners on the bet you win the double, three winners will win you three doubles and a treble, get all four winners and you'll be laughing all the way to the bank. It's made up of eleven bets so a 25p Yankee will set you back £2.75. Here's an example.

Two 2/1 winners = £2.25, that's one win on the double, covering your back and getting you your money back.

Three 2/1 winners = £13.50, that's three doubles and a treble giving you a great return.

Four 2/1 winners = £60.75, you've hit six doubles, four trebles and an accumulator giving you a fantastic return for a £2,75 bet.

So as you can see, even when a runner is considered a 'dead cert' you can get some great returns by showing the colour of your money on an accumulator bet.
